Coach of the Year
In 2019, I was named OUA Rowing Coach of the Year for my work leading the Carleton University women’s team.
After a successful season coaching the Carleton Ravens women’s rowing team, I was awarded the 2019 OUA Women’s Rowing Coach of the Year. This followed strong performances across the entire team, specifically from the Lightweight 2x and 2-, who placed third and second respectively.
However, I believe the recognition largely stemmed from my work with a hearing-impaired athlete to help her achieve her full potential. Throughout the season, I worked closely with her to develop a tool to improve her experience being coached on the water. While she missed the podium, finishing in a very respectable fourth place against a highly competitive field, her overall achievement earned her an individual OUA rowing award.
